The invisible deck is one of the strongest card tricks ever created. There is just one weakness: people are not emotionally attached to cards. But, people are attached to countries they want to visit or that they visited before (example: imagine how people are attached to the country they went for their honeymoon)
Effect
Who loves to go on vacation, the magician asks? OF course, everyone. The reality is that even though vacations are fun, it is a major case of stress in families before, during and after the vacations. According to a study, vacations are the 5th reason why families argue. One of the things they argue about…the location. Where do we go next year? Well in my family, it was a nightmare. Now we found a solution. We bought a deck of cards with lots of countries on it. Each year, my 6-year-old son takes the deck, hides it in his back and turns a card upside down.
Then, many weeks after that, when we decide when we will leave, we take the deck out and look at the card that was randomly reversed by my son. Neat right? This way, we have incredible surprises.
Sir, if you would choose a country, a place to go on vacation with your family, where would you go?
Portugal
Portugal…wow! That’s a place I would surely enjoy. Remember the deck I talked about? Well, tonight is the night. I brought it here and we will together discover where I will be going this year with my family.
The magician opens the deck. A different country visa is printed on each card. In the middle, only one card a card is reversed.
Sir where was your dream vacation again?
Portugal!
When the magician turns the card over, the card reads PORTUGAL.
Well, I guess we will meet again this summer sir…
This effect is ideal for cocktail, table hopping OR zoom shows. Pimp-up your Invisible Deck with Michel Huot’s Visa-Versa.
In addition, each card has additional information like the country’s capitol, the population etc. Every thing is coded (very easy) on the card case or on the cards themselves (no memory work needed).
You can also use this deck as a normal deck that you would have bought at the souvenir stand at an airport. BE creative, lots of possibility (especially mentalism routines).
