If you like WORDPLAY you will love "YES, NO, MAYBE SO." This trick combines two of my favorite word gags in one routine along with a classic kid show formula and a surprising ending that fools older kids and adults.
This is a trick for children 7 years old and up, and adults. Perfect for birthdays of older kids, schools, or family audiences. Age 7 is when kids start to love riddles, puns, and wordplay. This trick is designed with that in mind.
The magician shows the children a plaque with the word NO printed on it. He asks the children if they know how to read. They respond, "Yes." But when he asks them to tell him what word is printed on the plaque they keep saying, "No." Magician says, "Please tell me what word this is." Kids answer, "No!" This game continues until the kids explain to you that the wordisNO.
Then the magician says he will change the word on the sign. He changes the word from NO, to ON, to OZ and then to ZOO. He tries to get away with this but the kids know he is simply turning the plaque around and upside down.
Finally the magician does a real magic trick. He changes the word NO to the word YES and then back again. The children insist that he simply turned the sign around. But when he finally agrees to turn it around he says, "I would never do that" and the sign now has the word NEVER printed on it. Then he says, "Actually I always do that," and turns the plaque around one more time and now it has the word ALWAYS printed on it.
The plaque is a large 12" x 5" (30 cm x 13 cm). It packs flat and plays big. Carry it with youalwaysso you areneverwithout something for the older kids!
