For over eighty years the magazine was called The Budget, meaning in this context a small bag worn around the waist in which street performers kept their props. Just over three years ago it was decided to update the name so a competition was organised for the members to choose a new one, the successful title being Key Ring. In the I.B.M. each branch is called a ring and a key ring keeps all the keys (articles etc.) together. Another reason for the Key Ring title is that we are the biggest Ring in the whole of the I.B.M.
Add to all this, tricks submitted by various writers on an occasional basis, reports of magical activities within the UK and the facility for personal and commercial adverts and you have an exciting magazine. This is a members' magazine - and they are always welcome to and are encouraged to submit articles for consideration.
The magazine helps to bring our members together and is included in the cost of the membership subscription.
