This is a brand new Workshop for one of Madison’s most prolific card tricks - ANGLEZERO.
Although this workshop was created for and inspired by Madison’s ANGLEZERO Gaff Card, this workshop covers the in-depth teachings for that and so much more, beginning with a complete Workshop for the original ANGLEZERO method and effect… with new notes, ideas, handlings and effects from over 20 years of practice and performance.
In the first half of this Workshop Madison offers updated teachings for ANGLEZERO, from the ground up, so that his lessons on the ANGLEZERO Gaff Card can be mastered with ease. The Magician takes the participants selected playing card, in this case, the Queen of Hearts from the Purple Bangers. He proceeds to rip off an index corner from the Queen, he invites the participant to complete the rip, as he holds the index corner, as it hangs on by a final thread, the participant pulls the Queen of Hearts apart from the index. As the participant holds the torn card, they watch as the Magician causes the torn corner to instantly vanish at his fingertips. He then points to an impossible location, for example, he points to the pocket of an observing participant, where the vanished corner is revealed ( please note, the revelation location of the exact and actual corner is only limited by the Magician. ) The participant checks the corner against the Queen to find that it is a, fibre-for-fibre, perfect match.
The Magician takes back the torn Queen and places the torn corner on the back of the card, he then waves his hands over the torn piece as the participants watch in anticipation, but nothing appears to happen to the corner or the card, after a few more times, the Magician reveals that the trick didn’t go as planned… The card restored itself, but not correctly, as now, the torn corner is revealed to have melted into, and merged with the back of the card, creating an impossible object. This strange card can now be fully inspected by the participant, where they can actually feel the edges of the corner where it sits permanently on the back of the card.
Alternatively, once the index corner has been removed from the Queen, the Magician can place it directly on the back of the card before inviting the participant to hold the card at their fingertips, to balance the corner on the back… At this point, the Magician is completely ‘clean’ and the trick is done, so the ending and revelation is open for the Magicians creative performance, which is where this Masterclass will help…
